Description

Split homing CRISPR gene drive carrying an effector cargo gene (scorpine) embedded within artificial intron sequences inserting into three mid-gut specific genes. Needs to be crossed with Cas9-expressing line to be functional.

Proof of principal of GD mechanism, but system does not show intended effect on P. falciparum development

Expression of scorpine (sco) antimicrobial peptide. Green and Cyan fluorescent marker protein expression eyes of adults.
